Free time in Galway
Panoramic tour of the Burren region
2 hours on the Cliffs of
Moher
Description
On this tour we cross the island from East to West until we reach the colorful city of Galway.
Here we will have an hour and a half of free time to have breakfast, see the swans next to the Spanish Arch on the Corrib River, explore the lively streets and enjoy the people who play music there.
We will cross the Burren National Park seeing the typical stone of this area that gives a lunar aspect to the terrain.
We will also see the remains of Norman castles that extend throughout the landscape, such as Dunguaire Castle, among others, next to picturesque coastal towns such as Kinvara.
Our main stop will be at the Cliffs of Moher, recently declared a natural geo-park protected by UNESCO.
We'll be here for about two hours. In the highest part, they measure 210 m in height and extend 8 km, falling perpendicularly to the Atlantic Ocean. This is the natural habitat of birds such as puffins and cormorants, among
many others.
Admission to the visitor center is included, although it is always more recommended to enjoy the walk with spectacular views.
On the cliffs you can eat freely for sandwiches or in the cafeteria of the visitor center where they serve hot meals, although there may be queues.
The way back to Dublin is through County Limerick, where the Shannon flows. On the way we stopped at the Barrack Obama Center, which commemorates the president's recent visit where he traced his
Irish lineage and ancestry.
We are closed on January 1, March 17, December 24, 25 and 26.
